We had a fantastic experience with Scherr and are extremely pleased with the finished results. Our project included painting all of the kitchen cabinets as well as every wall throughout our home. The transformation is incredible. The cabinet finish looks beautiful and has given our kitchen a completely refreshed appearance, while the new paint throughout the house has made the entire space feel brighter, cleaner, and more updated. One of the things that stood out most was how well the team communicated with us. We always knew what was happening, what had been completed, and what to expect next. The project stayed on track, and the crew consistently arrived when expected. Everyone who worked in our home was courteous, respectful, and careful with our belongings and space. We worked with Scherr to reconfigure our existing kitchen and install new hardwood flooring on the first floor of our house.  Jed, Sean, and their whole team were incredible. They came out to see the project and provide an estimate within a week, thoroughly communicated the project timeline well in advance, and I got daily updates on the work that was being done from Jed. Including videos! They totally understood what we wanted, even when I was struggling to describe it. I cannot stress how great the communication has been. Jed was always easy to get ahold of, came up with some great ideas as we uncovered things in the demo process, and was genuinely a delight to work with. I have used this firm once before for basement insulation and was impressed with work quality and communication. This job was to correct a sagging corner on a deck and warped deck rails on the composite railings.  They installed additional fasteners on the rails, corrected a sagging rim joist, and reinstalled decking----one day of work and the deck looks amazing and is sturdy (and level!).  Better than promised and job site is cleaner than before the work! I also asked them to repair rotted door jamb bases around my basement french door.....I was expecting a splice of composite material to the lowest few inches of the jamb.  They replaced the pine jambs with PVC or some other composite on both sides all the way up.  It looks amazing.....caulked and finished perfectly. One more thing-----the office staff communicates well about timing of visits for estimates and scheduling for the work dates.  Very impressive.  Thanks!

The team at Scherr did a great job for us. They listened attentively to our concerns, answered all of our questions, and helped us address several general maintenance issues. We have an older home with some difficult/unusual complications and they worked with us to find solutions that addressed our issues while maintaining the integrity of original construction. Scherr is a first class company. They and their subcontractors did a fabulous job on our extensive kitchen remodel. Scherr is very organized and were very attentive to keeping us informed about progress and what was coming next. Chris, our Project Manager, was onsite several times a day insuring that the work was progressing and checking that we were pleased with each phase of the job. Chris was also very attentive to making sure the floors and carpets were protected and that the job site was cleaned up each day. Chris worked closely with the subcontractors so that the entire job was completed on time and within the cost of the original contract. Scherr is THE best in town, can't recommend enough. I've used them 3 times now for various projects around the house ranging in size from ceiling fan/deck board replacements to more complex projects like repair of extensive basement water damages. Each time they are on time, thorough, excellent with communication, they leave the place spotless, they're extremely organized and efficient, reasonably priced, and the end product has always been excellent. We contracted with Scherr in Feb 2026 to do tilework associated with our bathroom remodel.  Garrett Barker was our sales rep.  He was very pleasant to deal with, he listened to our needs, he offered good advice and alternatives that we hadn’t considered, and he followed up promptly.  What a difference from another company’s sales rep who didn’t listen to our needs, and who was interested only in pushing a sale that day.  Scherr’s pricing was good, too.  John was the tech who did the actual work, and he did a fantastic job that saved us some additional money. I hired Scherr to finish my unfinished basement and I could not ask for a better company to work with!! I am very impressed with the quality of work produced by all their employees along with dedicated customer service and support throughout the process! We LOVE Scherr!!! From the very start I could feel sincerity emanating from each employee. I called to get our bathroom redone, so that it would be safer for my mom who has Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia. From the first call to the first meeting here at our home, to each and every day making up the job, all team members involved were respectful, kind, considerate of my mom, patient, hardworking, talented, and CLEAN! Joe took time initially to listen to our needs, wants and visions. Unlike most people, he was not in a rush. He was thorough in his desire to hear us out, and walk us through possibilities. Once our design was finalized, he brought out a team of project managers and we talked through the job as a team. I was very impressed with their clarity, attention to detail, and again- their genuine desire to meet our needs. They actually wanted to hear each and every concern. The job ran very smoothly from start to finish, mostly thanks to Jed, one of the lead project managers. Jed is a phenomenal communicator- he let me know when things were going to happen, who would be doing what each day, etc, and when there was the smallest change he informed me. He also responded to each and every text and call. Unheard of these days! Especially in this field! 😂 Jed, like Joe, made me feel like we were cared about and taken care of. Thank you, Jed! Interacting with you was a breeze and a joy. Our bathroom looks amazing, and I can now use it safely to help my mom shower. Thank you, Scherr. We recently finished a full kitchen and first-floor remodel with Scherr Contracting, and the whole experience was fantastic.  They had been highly recommended to us by an interior decorator (Homewood Interiors), and they also had completed a project for our good friends which turned out stunning.  We were so happy we chose them! Our project manager Craig was great, he consistently responded immediately via text, phone, or email.  Harry Alascio (kitchen designer) and Gavin (owner) were all great to work with. From the first walkthrough to the final cleanup, the process was very smooth and well-managed.  The Buildertrend online system also made it easy to follow the schedule. A few things stood out: - The crew was punctual and respectful, stopping work at 4pm each day so we could still have some family downtime. - They cleaned up well and even moved our old refrigerator so we could live comfortably during the remodel. - When surprises came up — like a hidden return vents in the walls or complications rerouting the venting fan — they handled them well, with smart solutions. - We made several changes midstream, and they had no problem adjusting and did a great job. Scherr was a professional, dependable team that delivered what they promised.  We were blown away by how perfectly the finished space matched the design renderings. Scherr Handyman Services installed crown molding throughout the entire house and craftsman trim around all of the windows. The quality of the work was outstanding particularly given all of the intricate piecing together of all of the crown molding. Their efforts transformed our new bare-bones home into a showpiece with the expert craftmanship. The crew was very professional and completed the job in the time promised. We had a great experience with Scherr Companies- in particular their handyman services branch.  We had several smaller projects that were piling up, to include our kitchen sink that had come loose and our basement steps which needed reframing as the house has settled.  I was unable to get a few handymen I’ve used on previous jobs to come out and help us.  I reached out to Scherr after seeing positive reviews online, and they contacted me immediately.  Sean Hartig, a Project Manager over their Handyman Services branch came out to our house within a few days and provided very knowledgeable insight into our solutions.  It felt like I’ve know him for years.  Within a few weeks both projects had been completed.  The crews were friendly, skilled, and quick. Scherr worked on several repairs projects for me. For the porch, they replaced rotting fascia boards/trim and then scraped, sanded, and painted boards that were structurally sound but worn. They also repaired and painted the ceiling in my Kitchen, LR, and upstairs hallway over the stairs. We had a pipe burst in the basement over the Christmas  cold snap causing a minor flood that pretty much destroyed the bottom half of all the walls, the floors and the ceilings where the water came through. Mitigation company pretty much gutted the basement down to the studs and foundation. (before pics attached) In comes Scherr for the rebuild! They were easy to deal with all the way from the estimate walkthrough to completion. They didn't charge an arm and a leg, yet went above and beyond. Jed, Matteo, the contractors were all pleasant to deal with. Jed and Matteo kept me abreast of all the developments, delays, problems they ran into...etc. The craftsmanship is just insane. Final result is just immaculate. I've attached after photos to the best of my abilities but they just don't do enough justice to their work. I definitely endorse and recommend them 100%!

Scherr ordered and installed a new custom back door with frame on our house. It looks great and will help us retain heat and A/C in and keep storm water out. Scherr created a custom built-in shelving with sliding door closet system for us and we could not be happier with the work and the experience. Their guys are super talented at what they do -- carpentry, painting, tile work. The project managers go above and beyond to make sure all questions are addressed. You're assigned a project manager for all projects, small and large and this takes the stress away.
