We can still remember 25 years ago when our dad and grandfather took us to one of their first construction sites—our family’s future home. From that moment, we were captivated by the world of home construction. Growing up surrounded by the trade, we developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the significance of a solid foundation, both in homes and in relationships.
With over 20 years of combined experience as general contractors, we understand that making decisions about your home can be some of the biggest choices you’ll ever face. That’s why we believe the process should be easy and stress-free. Every day, we see customers searching for trusted general contractors to complete projects on their homes. Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a disconnect between the quality of work being provided and the overall customer experience.
This realization motivated us to start Scherr—to bridge that gap and combine quality workmanship with an exceptional customer experience. We will personally answer all phone calls and e-mails that you may have for us and are dedicated to improving your home!
Director of Sales and Client Relations | Contracting
With 15 years of experience spanning mortgage, real estate sales, and home construction, Joe Oberle brings a robust wealth of experience to Scherr. Since joining the team in 2023, Joe has been focused on building strong client relationships while driving successful sales. Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing ice hockey, and tackling home improvement projects.
Production Manager | Contracting
As a Production Manager with over 12 years of experience, BJ Blaker has earned a reputation for leading home renovation projects with precision and care. Since joining the Scherr team almost four years ago, BJ has played a pivotal role in transforming homes and businesses across Baltimore. He has a true passion for helping the Baltimore community turn their visions into reality.
Vice President of Creative, Principal Designer | Design
Harry is a published Interior Designer who brings over 20 years’ experience in the Kitchen & Bath industry, and he’s worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. His innate passion for design and attention to detail produces a space that is both beautiful, as well as functional. Taking a consultative approach with clients, allows him to educate them about products and guide them through the process of a kitchen or bath remodel or a newly constructed home. Harry truly believes the most successful projects are the result of collaboration between himself and his customer, where he brings their vision to life. He has worked with such notable clients as a U.S. Army General, Professional athletes, and a recording industry executive in Los Angeles. In addition to his extensive residential portfolio, he has also designed commercial spaces for such entities as Gallaudet University, The Indonesian Embassy, Allstate Insurance, & Rocco’s Pizza.

Costing and Estimating Manager | Contracting
Zach joined Scherr in early 2024, bringing a strong background in customer relations, organization, and cost efficiency. A Salisbury University graduate, Zach began his career at a brick supply company, progressing through various roles for over five years, followed by several years as a Project Manager for a local home builder. Originally from Howard County, Zach stays active by playing golf, working out, and attending sporting events and concerts, and participating in weekly Bible studies.
Vice President | Handyman
Andrew Todd brings 12 years’ experience in construction and remodeling to his role as the Vice President of Scherr Handyman. Since joining the Scherr team in 2023, Andrew has overseen the Handyman operations, ensuring quality service and client satisfaction are at the forefront of the team’s work. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys hiking, traveling, playing golf and ice hockey, and spending quality time with his wife and son.
